The idea

Before explaining you the idea about MUSITALY, I have to tell you a couple of backstories.

The first one happened around 2008. That time I was in my late 20’s and I will leave you the freedom to imagine a proper Italian guy in a city like Las Vegas. As you know What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.

I was walking in one of the famous hotels in the city because of a few movies filmed over there such as Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Thirteen. I was walking exactly in the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden they have inside when suddenly I heard a familiar voice singing

Festival, io sento questa musica
Che ci prende l’anima
Festival, sei tu la mia felicità
La mia notte magica

Well, this song is called Festival, released in 2002 and sung by Paola & Chiara. They are two talented and beautiful Italian sisters very famous in Italy among the late 90’s and the beginning of 2000’s.

They started their career singing as choristers for the 883 band and then they released their first success in 2000 called Vamos a Bailar. A great success in Italy which reached the Platinum Awards that year.

Actually they are not singing together anymore.

Anyway, Festival song never reached good results in the 2002 charts. In fact, as reported by Wikipedia, for that song the best position reached has been the number 6 in Italy, the position number 20 in Spain and 98 in Switzerland. At the end of the year the same song was at the position number 48.

Same for MTV Italia that at the end of 2002 didn’t put Festival’s song in the first 10 songs of the chart of the year.

Then I wondered, Why is this unsuccessfully song from 6/8 years ago being played in one of the most luxurious places in Vegas? Well, we are talking about a song that never reached a good result either in Italy or in the rest of the world, which means it didn’t hit a great audience? Well, that day I realized what exactly the Music Industry means and how they work.

The second one is a collection of my trips around the world.

What I understood so far it’s the love the people from around the world feel about Italy and its culture, products, food, etc.

Everytime I meet new people and I tell them where I came from, I can feel good vibrations and the love they have for my adorable country.

Usually, they tell me a list of very good things from the Belpaese such as Pizza, Pasta, Ferrari, Lamborghini or the places they visited: Rome, Venice, Naples and so on.

Everything is perfect unless they start talking about music: Toto Cutugno, Albano e Romina, Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli, Pavarotti …

Ok! Let Me Clarify something…

I do Love Toto Cutugno
I do Love Albano e Romina
I do Love Laura Pausini
I do Love Andrea Bocelli
I do Love Pavarotti

So. What’s the Story then? The story is there are thousand fantastic Italian songs that nobody knows abroad.

Hence, I got this idea. What if I create a Radio Show distribuite via podcast introducing weekly five songs between the ones Italian people listen to and the famous songs we ever loved since 1945 until now? Well, you already know the answer because Musitaly is On Air 🙂

Stay Tuned & Musitaly!

Remember: You are The Best, Love You and Don’t Forget Me!
